Defeat by Deceit:
How the Battle of Muizenberg was won
How did the British win the Battle of Muizenberg and take over the Cape Colony in 1795?
Not through sheer force, superior weaponry or more skillful fighting prowess.
They won largely by using disinformation, cunning and strategy. And they continued in the next century to conquer a huge swath of the African continent.
Had the Dutch, who controlled the colony until then, not fallen for the British misinformation they might well have won the war and ousted the British forces.
The full exciting true story is told in Defeat by Deceit.
Massacre at Dimawe Hill:
How a view of the Bible ignited a war
Massacre at Dimawe Hill tells the dramatic true story of a pivotal 1852 battle in the South African interior between the white Boer settlers and the Indigenous BaKwena people.
It outlines how the settlers drew on the Bible to justify their actions, which became the basis of the white supremacist policy under which South Africa was later governed until the move to democracy and the release of Nelson Mandela 150 years later.
